How much does a monument or memorial cost?

The price of a memorial is determined by type, size, granite color/type, and any additional custom details. General price breakdown:

• Price of granite: Includes basic information: family name, individual(s) name(s), date of birth, date of passing, simple carving (cross, heart, flower)
• Foundation Fee: Fee charge by the cemetery to pour a cement foundation and prepare the plot for installation (This fee is included in the total price of the order. We will forward the foundation fee to the cemetery and place the order for the foundation to be completed)
• Additional Custom Details (not required): Porcelain photo, detailed carvings, added borders, additional lettering or inscriptions

How long does this process take?

During the setting season (April to October), once final approval of the memorial design is approved by the customer, it typically takes between 14 and 16 weeks to complete the work and install the stone in that cemetery.

Order completion/installation can be impacted by a few factors, which will be discussed during the design process, if applicable.

• Foundation Completion: most memorials require a cement foundation to be poured in the plot before installation. We coordinate all the details of this process, but foundation completion can be impacted by the pouring schedule of the cemetery, and the time of year/season (foundations are unable to be poured in the winter months)
• A religious symbol must be included on the stone
• Weather/Season: we are only able to set monument between late spring and early winter
• Type of granite: rare granites or granites imported from overseas have a longer lead time (India Red, Jet Black, Dakota Mahogany, etc.)
• Custom shapes: designs including a custom shape of the actual stone (see our Benches and more tab for a few examples of beautiful unique stone shapes, intricate carvings, and monument designs)
• Large scale memorials: columbarium, mausoleum, etc.

How do I add a date (or new information) to a monument?

Call or email us to have a final date added to an existing memorial stone. To add just a final date we can typically do the work on-site, and do not have to remove the stone from the cemetery.
